What does argan oil have to do with goat?

Service Business

Argan oil is mainly associated with hair cosmetics, but it has a number of other properties worth knowing. The argan tree grows in Morocco and this is where this liquid gold is produced. What does the goat have to do with all of this?

A long-lived argan tree

Argan oil is obtained from the seeds of the argan tree. We will meet them only in Morocco. This plant is unusual. It can grow for 150 to 200 years at temperatures ranging from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius. Its roots extend up to 30 meters deep, so desert conditions are not a problem for its development. The fruits appear in a biennial cycle. The break may be longer in drought conditions. They are usually the size of a small plum, with a nut and seeds inside. It is from the seeds that argan oil is obtained.

Why is it worth using argan oil?

Argan oil is a great hair cosmetic. Apart from the fact that it can be used in shampoos and conditioners, it is also an excellent lotion. It is worth rubbing it into your hair regularly and leaving it for some time. The oil will help to eliminate split ends and give curls a good look. In addition, liquid gold is great for moisturizing the body and will be a salvation for people who struggle with dry skin. Thanks to its properties, it also delays the aging process and makes it brightened. The oil is also used to heal wounds faster and to prevent stretch marks, for example during pregnancy. It will also help with dry, chapped lips.

In the kitchen, we should not use argan oil for frying, but as its flavor is somewhat oriental, it will be a great addition to salads or sauces.

Let's check the labels. Buying counterfeit oil is only a waste of money. What are they characterized by? Above all, a low argan content. We should pay special attention to this.

Argan oil - what about that goat?

The trunk of the argan tree is not straight, which makes it easier for goats to climb and eat the fruit. They are their main meal. New trees often appear where animals have excreted debris. What's more, the digested center of the fruit makes the processing process simpler, which is why, as in the case of the most expensive coffee in the world, Kopi Luwak, the most valuable argan oil was made from the excrements of the aforementioned goats. Currently, this type is not readily available, and this method is not used very often.

Argan oil definitely deserves the name of liquid gold. It has many properties, thanks to which it becomes both a valuable cosmetic and a product useful in the kitchen.
