In autumn and winter, the days are short, and it is usually cold and the weather does not spoil us. Forgotten scarves, gloves and hats are returning to favor, T-shirts are replaced by thick sweaters, and the body uses much more energy to maintain temperature. We often change our diet to a more caloric one, and start to appear in fatty and hard-to-digest products. Our body needs energy, so this may seem like the best solution. It's no secret that there are heating and cooling products, but do we really know which ones belong to each group? This can be very deceptive. What ingredients should a warming diet contain? First of all, fruit and vegetables, but with the proviso that when raw, they cool down the body. Let's recycle them! Let's bake, cook, add to soup, make cream or compote without adding sugar. Dried fruits, all kinds of nuts and seeds are also perfect.
We should also remember about natural antibiotics, i.e. garlic and onions. They will protect us from colds due to their bactericidal effect. Although the smell may be unconvincing, it is worth enriching your diet with these ingredients. The perfect addition for autumn and winter will also be silage - cucumbers, cabbage and beets are rich in vitamin C, which will also support the work of our immune system.
Let's also stock up on spices and additives that have warming properties. These will be, for example, ginger, cinnamon, pepper, horseradish, cumin, thyme or cloves. When it comes to flour added to pancakes, dumplings or bread, use wholemeal. Let's also introduce whole grains to the diet.
Which products to avoid?
A warm-up diet will improve our mood and prevent colds, so avoid products that cool the body. It is mainly about cheese, yoghurt or milk, citrus fruits, wheat flour or sugar. Autumn and winter is also not the best time for chocolate, bars, cookies and other sweets. Of course, ice cream and frozen products also cool the body down.

Let's drink warm drinks that will help us warm up the body. It can be tea with additives, green tea or herbal tea. The first meal of the day must be warm and filling to give us strength and the desire to leave the house. Also remember about the importance of vitamin C in the autumn and winter season.
