The government is working on the implementation of a protective package for companies, which includes, among others, the Anti-Crisis Shield worth PLN 212 billion. These are measures which, according to government to serve as "medicine”In connection with the coronavirus epidemic. In addition to additional financial resources, it is planned to postpone the date of implementing JPK VAT with a declaration in order not to impose new obligations on entrepreneurs at this difficult time for everyone.

Postponement of the date of implementation of JPK VAT with the declaration - for whom?

Originally, VAT taxpayers were divided into two groups: large entrepreneurs and others, i.e. medium, small and micro-entrepreneurs. The first group was obliged to send a new JPK VAT from the settlement for April 2020. This obligation was to apply to other taxpayers only from the settlement for July 2020. One of the key points of the anti-crisis shield proposed by the Ministry of Development is postponing the entry into force of the new SAF-T to July 1, 2020 for all active VAT payers.

What does it mean in practice to postpone the date of implementing JPK VAT with a declaration for companies?

During the deterioration of the financial situation of many companies as a result of the coronavirus pandemic in Poland and in the world, entrepreneurs should remember about several aspects:

  • the obligation to send a new JPK will cover all taxpayers only from July 2020,

  • postponing the date of implementation of JPK VAT with the declaration gives entrepreneurs the necessary time needed to adapt their accounting systems to the new requirements related to the new JPK VAT - a test environment for taxpayers has already been made available for this purpose,

  • VAT declarations are to be liquidated only from July 2020 - until then, taxpayers submit VAT declarations and JPK_VAT files in accordance with the existing schemes, i.e. "on the old rules”,

The postponement of the date of implementation of the JPK VAT declaration with the declaration to July 1, 2020 for all taxpayers is currently in the project phase. However, after the prime minister's statements, entrepreneurs can have high hopes that the solutions proposed by the government will enter into force: 'We present a bold and prudent plan to prevent job losses, bankruptcies, plant closures, and a reduction in business turnover and revenues. This program is a shield, lifebuoy, one of the most comprehensive relief packages in Europe. This is an economic program for the coming months. We propose instruments to cushion the negative impact of the coronavirus on the economy, and above all on peopleand ”- emphasizes Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
